AGMs,
PRIZE GIVINGS AND CLUB FUNCTIONS
Jackets and tie should be worn in the Lounge areas and Dining Room unless
approval of less formal dress has been granted by the Captain or General
Manager.
SUNDAYS
Jackets and ties must be worn in the Mixed Lounge and Dining Room after
mid-day, unless otherwise announced.
SMART CASUAL WEAR
Apart from the above, smart casual wear is generally the appropriate apparel
around the Clubhouse. Excluded from the definition of smart casual wear
are Jeans, Tee Shirts, Shirts without collars, Denims, Beach Shorts and
Trainers.
Casual shirts must not be worn outside trousers and should be tucked in.
Appropriate attire is a form of courtesy that helps to create a pleasant
ambience for all members and visitors. Members are asked to assist in
the maintenance of our traditional high standards of dress.
SPIKE BAR AREA
The area in the main Clubhouse Lounge, bordered by the sliding doors on
one side through to the Snooker Room on the far side, has spike-proof
carpeting and it is therefore acceptable to wear golf shoes that have
been cleaned of any loose residue within this area. For the longer term
protection of the carpet, it is of course preferred that day shoes are
worn once golf has finished.
Appropriate footwear as described in the Club’s Rules should always
be worn and it is not acceptable to wear shoes without socks.
SMOKING
Please note that smoking is only permitted on designated tables in the
main lounge.
MOBILE TELEPHONES
Whilst accepting that in times of absolute extreme emergency the use of
cellular communications may be necessary, the Committee respectfully reminds
members and visitors that the use of mobile telephones is not permitted
within the Clubhouse area and all such phones should be switched to silent
mode whilst in the confines of the Clubhouse and on the course. Calls
should be made and taken outside the Clubhouse.
CREDIT
All Clubhouse transactions must be settled immediately by way of cash,
cheque or clubcard. The provision of credit facilities in the form of
a bar tab is expressly forbidden.
