EXPLANATORY NOTES
Membership of Cooden Beach Golf Club implies with it compliance with the Rules of the Club as laid down in the Constitution, a copy of which is supplied to all members.

THE APPLICATION FORM
A candidate must be proposed and seconded in writing by two members of the Club, both of whom must be personally acquainted with the applicant and responsible for his eligibility. They must also both write to the Committee stating that they know of the candidate, both socially and as a golfer, together with any special qualification he may have for election.

(The Committee may in its discretion waive this requirement in the case of a candidate who is not so far as the Committee is aware known personally to two members.)

Applicants should furnish the Club with a reference from the previous club together with a current handicap certificate.

THE PROCESS
All applications for membership are considered by the General Committee of the Club as part of the monthly General Committee meeting. After consideration successful candidates are invited to attend a short informal interview with a small select Interview Committee at which, as a courtesy to the Committee, the wearing of a jacket and tie (for men) is respectfully requested.

Following the interview process successful applicants’ names are posted onto the notice board in the Clubhouse for 21 days after which time (subject to no objections) they will then be admitted to the Club as members on payment of the appropriate subscription amount as advised by the Administration Office.

THE CONSTITUTION
A copy of the Club’s Constitution is available in the Administration Office for inspection by candidates prior to applying for membership if required.

WAITING LIST
All applications for membership are subject to availability and from time to time a waiting list for individual categories may be brought into operation. In the event of a waiting list being in place election to membership will be in strict chronological order of acceptance to the appropriate waiting list.

SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS
The Club’s subscription year runs from 1 December to 30 November and for members elected during the Club year subscription payments for playing categories of adult membership are calculated as a proportion of the appropriate annual subscription by reference to the period of the year unexpired at election.

Other categories are not subject to a pro rata payment.

Annual subscription payments are due on 1 December each year and must be paid in full or alternatively by a 12-month instalment scheme payable to the Club by Standing Order, details of which are available from the Administration Office.

ENTRANCE FEES
On admission to membership of the Club together with the appropriate subscription amount an entrance fee is payable equivalent to one full year’s subscription of the category applied for. This payment may by arrangement with the Administration Office be deferred over a period of time subject to a maximum of three years.

If an applicant is accepted for Full Playing membership, having joined the Club in another category, the balance of any Entrance Fee paid on joining and that appropriate to Full Playing membership then becomes due.
