Guidance
for Visiting Golf Societies and Visitors
As a general rule, casual green fee visitors will not
be permitted to play as detailed below, unless by special arrangement
and if the course is clear:
Weekdays before
10am & between 12 noon and 2pm
Saturdays before 2pm
Sundays before 10am
Weekend Competition Days until
4pm
It is the responsibility of the Secretary / Organiser
of the Society to ensure that all their members visiting this Golf Club
are aware of the following regulations:
The Club
Cooden Beach Golf Club can be located of the A259 Eastbourne to Hastings
road, clearly signposted at the Little Common Roundabout.

Bookings
Bookings must be confirmed in writing by completion of the reservation
form not less than four weeks prior to the date reserved. A non-refundable
deposit of 5.00 per head is required to confirm the date requested.
Minimum number 12. Final confirmation of numbers attending is required
not less then 5 working days prior to the event, after which it is regretted
that no reduction in the agreed charges can be made should fewer players
attend.
Playing Arrangements
Starting times will be allocated at 6 minute intervals, and should be
adhered to strictly on the day. Yellow tee boxes should be used.
Please advise your members not to use the white tees, unless previously
agreed with the Secretary. Handicap certificates are required.
Arrange for your faster golfers to lead the field. Play must proceed
at a reasonable pace. On greens, it is time wasting for a player
to putt when he cannot score in a Stableford Competition. A starting
sheet must be lodged with the Secretary/Steward before play commences.
Changing Rooms
Valuables should not be left in the changing rooms. Visitors are
advised that the Club does not accept responsibility for equipment or
valuables left in or around the Clubhouse and Car Park. Visitors
are requested not to change in the car park.
Clubhouse Facilities
The Clubhouse is open from 8:00 am from which time coffee is served in
the Lounge.
Dress
A reasonable standard of dress is expected of all golfers. Tailored shorts
are allowed with knee length socks or white above ankle length socks.
Approved golf shoes must be worn. Jeans, denims, tee-shirts,
track suits and trainers are not acceptable either on the course or in
the Clubhouse at any time
In the Clubhouse
Jackets and ties must be worn at all times in the Dining Room and in the
Mixed Lounge on Sundays. At all other times, smart casual dress
is permitted, but this excludes jeans, denims, open necked shirts without
collars, tee shirts, track suits and trainers. Ladies are asked
to be suitably attired in accordance with the above.
Spike Bar Area
The Spike Bar area is the main lounge/bar. Members may use
this area wearing golf shoes and smart casual attire, including tailored
shorts.
Etiquette
All golfers are requested to observe the standards of etiquette with particular
reference to: Slow Play - Repair of pitch marks on greens - Replacement
of Divots Removals of Marks in Bunkers - Rakes must be replaced after
use.
Security
The Committee will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to
any property left on the Club premises. There is an access code
number from entry into the locker room which changes on a regular basis.
This number can be obtained from the Professional.
Car parks
Please use the top car park which is signposted. The lower car park
is for members. Access to the 10th tee is via a track to a parking
area. This is also signposted.
Mobile phones
Mobile phones may not be used in the Clubhouse or on the course.
It is accepted that there is a need for mobile telephones to be carried
by some people because of their employment. We also ask that in
those cases the ringing tone be set to a silent mode in order to alleviate
annoyance to other golfers.
Snooker
Visitors may use the snooker facilities, we have two tables, subject to
table availability. Light meters are used.
Trolleys
Trolleys can be hired from the Professional. During the Winter months
please check beforehand with the Professional as to whether or not trolleys
are permitted.
Buggies
We have a small number of buggies which are available for hire.
The cost for this vehicle is £25.00 per round or £35.00 for the day.
Professional
The Club Professional and the Club maintain an excellent
range of items suitable for prizes, and will be pleased to assist in any
way necessary. |
