Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2a)
This is beyond the boundary of the course defined by fences, ditches, hedges or white posts. The Cole Stream forming the northern and western boundaries of the course is out of bounds. Internal out of bounds are defined by white posts.

2. PATHS & TRACKS (Rule 16.1a)
All prepared paths (but excluding the 10th tee car park which is marked as out of bounds) are immovable obstructions and Rule 16.1a applies. Relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1a. i.e. determine the nearest point of relief and drop within one club-length.

3. PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)
All penalty areas are defined by red stakes/lines – double stakes define the start/end of each penalty area.
If a player’s ball is in a penalty area, including when it is known or virtually certain to be in a penalty area, even if not found, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke:
a) Stroke and distance relief (see Rule 14.6)
b) Back-on-the-line of relief (see Rule 14.3)
c) Lateral relief (see Rule 14.3)

4. DRAINAGE TRENCHES (GUR Rule 16.1a)
Any drainage trenches marked or not may be treated as G.U.R. and relief may be taken under Rule 16.1a.

5. CLUBHOUSE & GARDENS
The Clubhouse & Gardens/Patio Area are immovable obstructions and relief may be taken under Rule 16.1a.

6. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO THE GREEN (Rule 16.1)
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief may be taken under Rule 16.1a. In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green and is within two club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.
There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

7. SUSPENSION OF PLAY
In the event of conditions that require a suspension of play if not found, the player has these relief options, each for this will be signalled by 3 short blasts from an air-horn from the 1st and 10th tees. Players are to cease play immediately and mark the position of any balls in play.

8. WINTER RULES
Preferred lies and temporary greens are advised Local c. Lateral relief (see Rule 14.3) Rules when displayed on the noticeboard.
